When the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray arrives at dealerships later this year it will feature two optional new Design packages dubbed Atlantic and Pacific.

Pricing on the 2015 Corvette Stingray and the new packages will be announced at the end of May, said Chevrolet spokesman Monte Doran, according to Edmunds.com. Consumers should note that the 2015 Corvette Stingray will feature some significant enhancements, including a new Performance Data Recorder and an optional eight-speed automatic transmission.

"We plan to make news with the Corvette Stingray every year, in part by offering special-edition models that offer a unique, personal ownership experience," noted Todd Christensen, Corvette marketing manager.

The new Design packages first debuted in concept form last fall at the 2013 SEMA Show.

"A strong response from enthusiasts helped influence production," said GM in a statement.

The 2015 Corvette Stingray Atlantic Design Package is inspired by private jets seen at European vacation destinations.

It will be offered on Z51-equipped convertibles only in 2LT or 3LT trims. Details include a front Z06-style splitter, Shark Gray exterior vents, Chrome Torque wheels with Stingray center caps and custom luggage.

The 2015 Corvette Stingray Pacific Design Package is inspired by West Coast drivers who attend weekend track events.

It will be offered as a Z51-equipped coupe only in 2LT and 3LT trims. Details include Satin black full-length racing stripes, a CFZ carbon-fiber ground-effects package, red brake calipers and carbon-fiber interior trim.

The new Performance Data Recorder is optional on the Atlantic and Pacific models, as well as the new eight-speed automatic transmission. A seven-speed manual transmission is standard.
