Not sure why the Dartmouth article made you think of me. Here in North Sydney, Cape Breton, drivers even stop to let the ducks and duckling squads cross our "Commercial Street" to go from "their" pond for a cool dip into the harbour. It's our occasional 5 minutes traffic jam - much to the glee of the drivers. They do obey the "Save our Ducks" & "Save our Kids" signs. Besides, they love to stop and chat.
We do have a few rambunctious drivers but they save that for the highway.
As for the police, they seem to dislike sun, rain, snow and prefer staying at the station to play bingo (or something).
