That's up to the people of New Jersey to figure out. They can elect politicians who'll raise taxes to implement job training programs, or they can do like my state does and form partnerships with big industries to train workers at no cost.

As for the rest of your comments: "New Jersey appears to be the only state that prefers to have the lesser educated working instead of being on welfare. Having lived in NJ for many years I have never seen a long line at unused pumps of which CrackedLCD Reports. Also NJ gas prices have always been cheaper than in any & all of he surrounding states"... I think those were in reference to other comments made by other posters on the site. Have a great Memorial Day weekend, JimL1!

I attended Monmouth College (it used to be "College" at the time - now Monmouth "University") between 1981 & 1985. I lived in Long Branch, West Long Branch, West End, Deal, Asbury Park and several neighboring communities. And while I remember there being "full service" gas stations, (and the air hose that activated the bell so that the attendant can come out to fill your car up), I cannot think of a single instance when I waited for or allowed an attendant to pump my car up with gas... (One reason, I remember, was because I would have felt obligated to tip (I know.. not required) but having been a college kid, I could barely afford the gas let alone the tip). Or may be it was the communities that I lived in where such "laws" were relaxed... Either way, it matters not now that it has been many years since.

I've never seen the "less educated" working at gas stations, just foreigners with bad attitudes towards their customers. I know the prices are low but that's nothing to do with the pump jockeys and more to do with low taxes and refineries in-state. If NJ truly cared about the 'less educated' they give them free job training so they can work something fulfilling that pays enough to support a family instead of a dead-end minimum wage job.

Hi Jim Thanks for your reply. I did read the entire article and I agree we should not be the world's policeman. But our government seems to want to cherry pick situations where we do get involved and then with lukewarm responses. This has been true with past administrations Republican and Democrat. I did not make that clear in my post and I apologize for that. But I do believe if we commit to an action it will be 110%. Anything less than that we stay out completely.I do wish you well.

Hey Jim, let me give you A BIG CONGRATS on your busting into the TWO MILLION CLUB in points, Keep up the good work. David...........QQ

A BIG CONGRATS on reaching that 2M mark and your nice new ride! Wow! Truly awesome! Keep leading the way for others to follow here in GasBuddyland! More than 90% of all the GBs that signed up over the past 15+ years will never make it to 1M points, most GBs quit before they even get close, and there are only 4,349 GBs out of more than 13 million GBs that have reached 2M points! :(Others ahead of you have retired, so there is lots of room at 3M points with that big red limo! Keep going, don't stop now! It's nice seeing you come back each day as I track your progress to that 3M milestone! Thanks buddy for your 11+ years of dedication here in GasBuddyLand! Have a nice week! Ron
