ExxonMobil Gives a 10% Incentive on Holiday Gift Cards

I'm not an expert on shopping. Let me get that out of the way. I have no insightful advice to offer on what to buy for whom... Or, when, how, or where to buy it. If you're like me and you despise shopping in all its hideous forms then you may want to pay attention to this...

There are certain things that always make a great gift. One of those things is cash money. And another is the gift card. Which is often nearly as good as cash money. Now if you happen to know someone who drives... you probably know that he or she never wants to run low on gas money.

Especially for the students on your Christmas list... or anyone else on a tight budget who knows the importance of saving money on the necessities, a gasoline gift card could be greatly appreciated. ExxonMobil has a deal that I think warrants your attention.

From now through December 31, customers who purchase $100 in ExxonMobil gift cards at any Exxon or Mobil station and register those cards online will receive a free $10 ExxonMobil Gift Card. Customers may earn up to two free gift cards per household. So essentially, you can give a nice gift and earn 10% back for yourself, or, obviously, you can make that a gift too if you receive it in time!

This special promotion is only available for a limited time. To receive the free gift card, customers must purchase $100 in ExxonMobil Gift Cards at an Exxon or Mobil station between November 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011. And then you've got to register online to qualify for the (10 percent) gift card you get back. When you purchase the gift cards you'll receive the link where you can register online to get your free gift card. It arrives by mail.

The cards must be registered by Jan. 15, 2012. And there's more good news: the gift cards have no expiration date. Again, your purchase brings a 10 percent bonus for you -- everybody wins. (I hope this information is helpful and reduces any holiday shopping stress!)

I purchased two $100 cards, received two $10 cards within a week and used all of it in a month. What other gas stations are offering this, especially considering that all gas prices are the same in an area? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I challenge anyone to come up with a better interest rate than 10% for a $100 investment over about a 1 month time, which is about how long I would expect it to take to get the $10 gift car in the mail.
