dimman, that was one of the greatest festival shows/tours ever(I saw the L.A. Coliseum concert) . . . the only clear memory I have of that day besides Metallica owning, is I started the infamous food fight . . .

Ozzfest 2004- I saw some of the best metal bands of all time- Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Slayer. This was Judas Priest's first show back with Rob Halford in a long time, at the Hartford show.
Hatebreed's 2008 New Year's Eve show. Glassjaw and Signs Of Hope opened. what a great night. I got to see one of my favorite bands.
Ozzfest 2003- Manson/Korn/Ozzy/Shadows Fall/KSE/Chimaira

I wish I had seen Bruce Springsteen. He grew up about 10 miles from me and I never heard of him until "Born to Run". I was living in Massachusetts at the time. I missed it.

Toss up: Reba McEntire or Olivia Newton John. Both of them really entertained the audience.

Hard to narrow down but the best would probably include:
Bruce Springsteen/L.A. Sports Arena Oct. 84- For the only time in my life managed to pull priority #1 when buying concert tickets(before online sales, when it was an adventure to go camp out at the box office for tickets), and ended up with front row, DEAD CENTER seats for night 2 of his 7-night stand on the "Born In The U.S.A." tour; hard to top that, and I wasn't even that big of a Bruce fan . . .
U2/Long Beach Arena Nov. 84, L.A. Sports Arena Apr. 87- Of the 9 total times I've seen U2(1 of my 3 all-time fav groups) live these shows stand out for me because the 84' show was the 1st time I saw them live and the 87' show because there was just this palpable electricity in the air, a realization that they had crossed a threshold and were in fact The Biggest Band In The World . . .
Iron Maiden/Long Beach Arena Apr. 85- it was during the absolute peak of metal mania in SoCal and everywhere else, and I caught nights 2 and 4 of their 4-night stand during which much of "Live After Death" was recorded . . .
KISS/The Forum, CA Inglewood Aug. 96- I never thought I'd see KISS like in their 70's peak(saw them twice in concert w/o Ace and Peter Criss and w/o makeup), so this was special; also kicked off one of the best all-around weeks in my life because 2 days later I enjoyed a free trip to New Orleans I had won earlier . . .

So many were great I guess CCR with front row seats during their peak in 1970 Rolling Stones "Get yur ya's tour at the Spectrum The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Blind Faith, Savoy Brown, Jim Croce
Best concert at the Fillmore was hands down "Santana" encored 5 times for the late show back in 1969. "Evil Ways" come out.

with out a doubt - PINK FLOYD best laser light show would go to Blue Oyster Cult but That would be because I saw them before all the regulations on laser use like not being able to hit the crowd with the laser light for raw talent it would be ELP best hard rockers/heavy metal - Deep Purple
best party band - The J Giels Band

Impossible to call one the "Best", but here are a few stand outs:
Heart - Saw them in 1987 at the Capital Center, MD and then again in 2003 (may have been 2004) at the famed Wolf Trap theater, VA. I think they were actually better the second time. Plus, Ann was doing that whole lap band/gastric bypass thing, so she was physically able to sing better than when she was heavier. Nancy Wilson is one of the most unique and energetic guitarists out there and she's moves like she's loving every minute of every song on stage. The only regret was that Howard Leese wasn't part of the band at Wolf Trap.
Pink Floyd - Saw them twice on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour (RFK Stadium, DC and Merriweather Post, MD). That was when everybody was freakin' out about their laser show. And it was very cool along with the other surprises like the giant pig and the flying bed and the round movie screen. Of course, David Gilmour's live playing is always transcendental, but other than that the visual show was about the effects. The band was really not a focus visually, but the music was phenomenal!!!
King's X - Jaxx night club, VA, in 2004 or 2005. What a great live band! They were into every song and played F L A W L E S S L Y!!! They don't get the credit/respect/album deals they deserve so they're usually in small venues these days, but don't let the lack of hype fool ya. See them if ya get a chance!

I think Metallica's Oct. shows in 2004 in Philly have been bested by TOOL Sept.28, 2006 in Camden. Still buzzing about it almost a month later.

Lollapalooza 1994 - Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, L7, Green Day, George Clinton, and The Breeders. The only way it could have been better was if Nirvana was still around (they were originally supposed to be the headliner).

2nd best was Susan Aglukark at a small venue in Oakville. She has an amasing voice.

Top shows I atteneded: Rolling Stones - Bridges to Babylon tour, ft. Blues Traveler(awesome show) Foo Fighters back in 1997 (amazing show) Collective Soul, ft. Fastball in 2001 (another amazing show). But by far the greatest concert I went to.... System of a Down - Sept. 2005, St. Paul Xcel Center....the greatest show I ever attended. The most energetic from both the band and the crowd, just an amazing sound. The only sucky part was the band Hella who opened up the night, and then Mars Volta wasn't in top form. But System made up for the rest of the night and then some.

LOL Kat ... I saw Tina Turner that year. It was a good concert.
I think my favorite, and not so much because of the bands but because of my age and it was real fun for me, would be Bon Jovi & Cinderella I think in 1986 or 1987. Been too long ago !

Tough one...but I'll go with the 2005 Coachella Music & Arts Festival in beautiful Indio, CA.
I saw New Order and Bauhaus in one night AND New Order even played some Joy Division tracks.
Runner-up Pet Shop Boys - The Tabernacle, Atlanta 1999 I got to hang out with them in the upstairs lounge after the show.
