The latest check into gasoline prices clearly has big winners, and a few losers. Average gasoline prices fell substantially in Great Lakes states in the last week, led lower by prices in Indiana that fell an average of nearly 17c/gal in just the last week. Ohio prices fell an average 16c/gal, while prices in Michigan fell 15c/gal. Other areas seeing big drops were Kentucky, where the state average dropped 11.2c/gal, Minnesota fell 10.6c/gal, and Missouri fell 9.6c/gal.

The losers this week- the areas that saw prices rise against a falling national average? Drum roll... Utah saw averages rise 5c/gal, Alaska gained 2.6c/gal, and Wyoming rose 1.2c/gal. Beyond that, very few states saw average prices rise last week- certainly great news...

around here it's finally dropping a little again.. but only to be back at last month's relatively low. With the way crude has fallen on the future's exchange markets, we should see drops of 25 and more cents per gallon.

It really is ironic. Salt Lake has about 4 or 5 refineries on the North side of town some of which have pipelines of crude running into them. Yet the price jumps 5 cents. How is that for gouging.

I can see us getting down further here, possibly to $3.39 for our average in Tampa Bay and some prices declining to $3.29, possibly even a bit lower. At least I hope so for the vast majority of us.

Gas is always going to fluctuate depending on where your geographical location in this country, or even in Canada. The gas prices were expected to drop now that the winter mixture is online and the price of the dollar is a little stronger, at the moment anyway.

if you use the fuel log book you see something interesting.
two years ago I paid half what I pay now for gas, my income didn't double.
guess it pays to be big oil.

It's still controled by the local distributor on the way down. It's 3.55 here, 3.29 just 100 miles north in VA.

I'm figuring we'll see a continuation of the decline, at least in our area here in Tampa Bay to down around the $3.29 level.

Diesel did NOT drop in CA last week. Why are we exporting it to Central and South America? To keep the prices high here and so big oil can make their profits!

Each state has different circumstances, and that includes the price of gas.
