Drivers in my recent trips to the USA,Italy, New Zealand and Australia are using lights during the day, often after signs suggesting they do so. Driving in forested areas, accross deserts or pairies, being visible to other drivers can be a life saver, especially on long 2 lane roads. Motorcycles have lights on when running.

It's nothing but a way to sell more lightbulbs in my opinion so I do not use them during the day and am happy I was able to find a vehicle this day and age that didn't have daytime running lights.
