I usually (but not always) wear my seat belt, and I usually start the engine, then put my seat belt on. Sometimes I will forget and put in on at the next stop sign.

If you buckle up after putting the key in the ignition, and you're on public property, you are guilty of a traffic infraction of failing to wear a seatbelt while operating a vehicle.

At home I start my truck, then put my seatbelt on. When away, I put my belt on, then start my truck up.

I had a habit of putting on my seatbelt after i start my engine. It should be the other way around.

Since my wife is so slow about buckling up. I usually buckle up and start the car. It usually takes her a minute or so to buckle up and then we go.

It varies, but I usually put my seat belt on first.

After I start the engine. Even though CA has a new law that requires you do so before.

I always wear my belt, and not only because I'm in a 'click it or ticket state.' However, in the morning when I'm rushing out to work, I usually don't put it on until I'm about to exit my apt complex. I'm not going more than 15 mph, so it's no big deal.

I save gas wherever I can (like most Gas Buddies) I buckle up, set up the GPS etc before I turn the key.
